TURBOWINDS, a manufacturer of industrial wind turbines, with approximately 1.000 turbines in operation wold-wide, and several patents pending, is currently looking for :

The new candidates will become part of a small, but experienced dynamic , team of wind turbine design and research engineers.

The first months, the candidates will be given sufficient training and time to study literature, design standards and calculation methods regarding modern wind turbine constructions and engineering.

The training program also includes the study of existing constructions and example engineering documents.

In due time, the candidates will be given specific design and engineering tasks, to enable them to properly develop their skills and gradually become familiar with all design aspects.

As their experience is growing, the candidates will be given more extensive tasks and responsibilities, to further expand their knowledge and capabilities.

At any time the candidates can count on the expert knowledge and support from the present engineering team, as well as the Research and Development area.

Depending on their competences, achievements and professional progress, the candidates will be given, in due time, the ability to grow to new challenges (project manager, or other).

The time to grow to such new challenges is, of course, depending on the candidates experience and ability, but is expected to take between 1 and 2 years, because of the complexity of the product.

Because of the limited engineering crew, the candidates should preferably be polyvalent, or at least not have objections to perform different kinds of tasks, including disciplines such as:

• Aerodynamics
• Mechanics
• Hydraulics
• Electrical and electronics
• Civil engineering
• Dynamics of structures in general

For the same reason, the candidates should have hands on experience, or at least the desire to get familiar with, the following engineering software (or equivalent):

• Solid Works
• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Office
• Mathlab (Simulink)
• MathCAD
• Finite element calculations

The candidates should further be familiar to work according to quality management standards such as ISO 9001, or equivalent.

Experience with product certification processes is considered an asset.

Experience in wind energy is, of course, a benefit but not mandatory.

The primary required job skills are polyvalence, the ability to work in team, and to be sufficiently independent, and motivated by new technologies and new developments in the wind-turbine industry.
